# A Letter from the Founders

*July 2026*

When we started Northwind three years ago, we believed the
hard part would be the technology. We were wrong in the most
instructive way possible.

The hard part was earning the right to be boring — to become
the system our customers stopped thinking about because it
simply worked. This year, for the first time, support tickets
fell while usage doubled. That crossover is the only chart we
framed.

## What we learned

We learned that trust compounds faster than features. The
three largest customers we signed this year each cited the
same reference call — not the demo, not the roadmap.

We learned to say no earlier. The two products we declined to
build would have consumed the year; the one we shipped instead
now carries a third of revenue.

## What comes next

Next year we go deeper, not wider: two integrations our
customers have asked for by name, and an honest attempt at
the hardest problem in our space.
